I am not going to lie, I wasn’t born with all this already in place. To be honest, quite the opposite in many instances. 😓

FEELING THE COLD SNAP OF YOUR COMMITMENTS?🥶 As we begin to enter fully into this winter season, weeks into the new year, the real weight of the desires, goals, intentions we have for ourselves and this year is keenly felt.

Especially as nature and the environment around us (here in the north anyway) is guiding us towards the teachings of death and letting go. It can feel like quite a paradox.❄️

It is around this time that many of us can lose heart and any momentum we have been building in making earnest changes in our lives. In order to create something meaningful for ourselves, our loved ones, and the world …🔥

If so, you are not alone! I have had lots of conversations with other women/femmes about this, (women who are simultaneously juggling many responsibilities and callings - I bow deeply 🙇🏽) and have gone through it myself.

The turning point for me was when I was able to change my relationship with how I saw the act of “discipline” as one that supports a practice of “devotion”❤️‍🔥.

Cultivating the feeling of “devotion” in my life has, hands down, added a deeper sense of purpose for me. It has even added new found daily passion and joy! And that was truly a surprise! 😙

And it’s something that you can infuse in any kind of goal, resolution, vision you might have ✨. Whether it’s in:

-your intimate relationships
- your vision for life-first work,
- or even your personal health.

I am excited and humbled to start this year with the opportunity to share with you this foundational teaching - as a GIFT 🎁. Inspired and channeled by mama earth 🌏 , capricorn season 🐐and the wisdom of winter ❄️ - my teachers.

COULD THIS BE 50? I wondered to myself, as I lay with pneumonia deep in my lungs, wheezing on the couch, in the dead of a cold winter night—months ago.

I had respiratory issues as a young child. Asthmatic and prone to colds, much like that winter night, I remember coughing into a pillow to muffle the sound and not wake my parents. Feeling like I couldn’t catch my breath. Feeling afraid.
Except this time, it was pneumonia—and it lasted almost 2 months.

I had outgrown childhood asthma and overcome nearly every health issue through my spiritual healing journey. Yet here it was again at 49, and I wasn’t getting better.
Four months of respiratory issues, a bruised rib (sitting up to sleep sucked), and the inability to work—while trying to stay present for my child and spouse.
Not to mention, new peri-menopause symptoms. By the end, I felt depressed.

On that starless winter night, gripped with pain, fear, and weariness, a vision of my 50 came to me.
The ultimate mindset game-changer: I realized that to heal, I needed to create future memories where I was off the couch, in my body, and fully ALIVE. I had to start working towards them.
So, I took refuge in mindful breathing, asked my body what it needed to heal, and waited patiently.
Soon, a vision appeared—turquoise waters, white sand, glowing sun. HER … known by many names: Mama Cocha, Sedna, Thalassa, Maya, Aphrodite, Yemanja.
And she wasn’t alone. I wasn’t alone. I was there with my siStars, my coven.
Tending to one another, laughing, swimming, resting, dreaming.
It felt delicious and necessary. I remember the warm peace that washed over my terrified, sweat-soaked body as I drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, I sent the first text to one of my siStars.
Six months later … here I am. 50.

What a journey! I feel so humbled and blessed. The mind and heart in harmony truly create magic!
Thankful to the witchy women in my life.
Thankful to the caretakers of my vision’s paradise, the Maya.
Thankful to the sea and land of the Maya Riviera, to Venus, and Mama Cocha herself!

BEING A SCORPIO HASN’T ALWAYS BEEN EASY... 💧 For years, I resisted the Scorpio label—its stereotypes of "possessive, vindictive, sexual" —and astrology itself.
Family history made it even harder, since I have some scorpios 🦂 in my family and they are complex to say the least. I also didn’t respect astrology’s seemingly predictive nature.

Yet, I always wondered why I felt everything so deeply and sensed others' emotions, even hidden ones. It was overwhelming, and my intuition extended beyond—connecting me to spirits. At first, it was terrifying.

I resisted, denied, and judged... until a few years ago. Through cultivating mindfulness and grounded spiritual practices over the years, I began to be connected with the cosmos—especially the Moon and Venus. And it wasn't scary it actually felt very grounding.

I began studying astrology in earnest, tracing back to my Incan ancestors' reverence for the skies. (Their sophisticated space observatories made of simple rocks and pools of water reflected how their relationship to the cosmos shaped their everyday lives).🌟

Embracing astrology has helped me reclaim a piece of my identity, learning to respect Scorpio’s essence: birth, death, and transformation.🔥

So where are my fellow Scorpio/water sign 💦 babes? I see you, feel you, and honor your journey. You are not alone. 💜

Through the wisdom of their bodies, joining with other women, in community. Sharing stories, sharing food, moving and releasing through the body.

Experiencing heightened states of consciousness, authentic witnessing and somatic release for women is so important ✨

Now more than ever, in a world where many of us feel alone, overworked and spiritually unfulfilled.

I truly believe these gatherings are not only good for our physical and mental health, (dancing is a powerful known antidote for anxiety and depression) but also deeply satisfying to intuitive ancestral wisdom within us. 😌

These practices are not “new” or part of some “spiritual” trend … they are in fact a reclamation of the ancestral legacy that every woman has a right to. Yes, EVERY single one of us. It may have looked a little different from culture to culture but ultimately we would gather with other women to process, to purge and to dance.

As one of the participants shared with me the next day, atheist to boot, (you don’t need to be religious or spiritual to benefit) she had had the best and most blissful sleep, after the gathering, than she’d had in a long time. 😴

Nervous system reset. This is the modern MAGIC✨ we are all wanting and is possible for you.

From time with old friends and new, along with just more slow time with the fam, this summer so far has been just what I needed after a busy spring … and frankly what this season of summer invites us to do🌼

It’s still sometimes challenging to fully surrender the ingrained workaholic in me, (created by our society, my ancestry, notions on the amount of labour my gender should do) but I am getting better at TUNING IN and LISTENING to the cycles of mother earth … the SEASONS🌻🌞 and leaning in to the ancient wisdom she provides.

The kind that provides immediate benefits through rest and moments of pleasure of joy🥰

The kind that I know will set me up for longevity and a sustainable future, through pacing myself and taking care of myself in body, mind and spirit✨✨

Despite the success and accolades as a successful leader (work, home, community), feeling like the daily norm involves a “work harder” energy to maintain and achieve your personal dreams.

Your success depends on you doing it ultimately on your own, which can lead you to feeling alone. Sharing the totality and vulnerability of who you are, does not feel like an acceptable option as a leader..

You often feel your decisions come from a place of what is expected or “realistic” based on your life’s past programming/stories instead of what is potentially truly authentic and aligned to you.

AFTER A STRING OF FAILED RELATIONSHIPS AND HEARTBREAK 💔 ,I decided to do something I had never doe before—to fully commit to myself.

FOR REALS ...Like with a public wedding and reception (days away from Valentine’s), with pink frosted cupcakes, pink flowers, a pink frilly wedding dress and a self-curated music playlist of all MY favourite songs in front of my chosen friends and fam … 💕

WITH a gorgeous ring! Since it was shotgun wedding 😘 it was large, snowglobe-like ring with a tiny pic of the cutest pomeranian embedded within, all to please the girl/woman within me.

AND if that wasn't enough! I whisked myself away on my dream honeymoon to the coast of Brazil 🏖 for 2 months!! During this time, I finished editing my first book of poetry, trained with capoeira martial art greats, and delved deeper into witchy magic ✨

That was 15 years ago.

💗 Since then, I met my amazing husband and partner in crime 11 years ago.
💗 Despite fertility issues, we had a miracle baby when I was 44.
💗We've laid down roots in our dream home, closer to nature and extended family.
💗I continue to live life on my own terms, balancing work with extended trips for study with my elders -wisdom-seeking and exploring the meaning of life.
💗Became a Minister to support other women with self-love/self-worth through various life passages. (Right now, I'm delving into the spiritual initiation of peri-menopause).
💗My journey led me to ecstatic dance, and I became a facilitator for Women Circles, valuing women's bodies, pleasure, and play.
💗I even have a cute little fluff ball in my life! (Except he's a shih-tzu. Sweetest little guy ever, and was the first thing I manifested post my self-commitment ceremony).

Every year, I celebrate my anniversary by re-reading my vows and dancing to songs from my wedding playlist. The gift of self-love has allowed me to take exciting risks and love others better.

So, on this V-day, In the name of SELF-LOVE, I would love to humbly gift all you amazing beauties - a self-love ecstatic dance playlist!!! DANCE FOR YOURSELF, love!!

🌕FULL MOON RITUAL 4U🌕 On this full moon known under many names … Wolf Moon, Quiet moon etc …we are opened up to answer some of the tough questions in our lives - all divinely reflected in the bright light of the full moon.

If you live in the northern hemisphere this is the time where the winter is reaching its full depth. And you can fully feel the grip of what is wanting to be let go. You may also feel the hunger for change more clearly now than ever, and this is a GOOD THING! (It’s called a Wolf Moon due to wolves being the hungriest at this time of the year due to winter and less food).

AND with the recent Aquarius energy coming through, coupled with a Leo moon gives you all the tools you need to do the work …. bringing bravery in asking those questions along with the spirit of self-acceptance and worthiness within you, quirks and all… so you can begin to embrace change. Leading us towards spring - aka: new chances, new opportunities, following our purpose, passion, dreams 💫

So, here’s my suggested simple, yet deep ritual for this full moon.

🐺WOLF FULL MOON RITUAL: Go for a walk under the moon.

That’s it.

Whether the moon is visible or not, whether you live close to nature or not, it doesn’t matter …Just go for a walk and allow the magic of the moon to take care of the rest ✨🌕✨

On this particular Quiet moon I have been guided to be quiet… and go further into my healing hibernation time. This includes being off all devices, including here too, for the next 4 days.

In the meantime, I’ve set it up so I can share more of my Winter Series poems with you during this fast.
May they bring you moments of reflection, peace and hope.

☀️MY HAPPY PLACE☀️…
Snow kissed eye lashes.
Slow, cool breaths of crisp air
- surrounded by wise evergreen elders.

Recovering and building my immunity back up has been my main focus these days.

These daily short walks have been therapeutic for me on so many levels 💖

I personally love the winter and the gift of self-reflection and slower pace it brings. As we enter the heart of the season, (here in the northern hemisphere) surrendering to the death we see mirrored in our physical landscape can be wildly cathartic.✨❄️✨

We know that to contend with/surrender/accept death is necessary in order to bring forth any new changes/growth we want to see in our lives.AND it can also feel hard.

But it’s only temporary.

If nothing else. Remember that.

Being a Scorpio and a medium, I am relatively comfortable with the concept of death more than most, but I have my moments… Like going through this recent health portal. I get it.

Between these surrendered moments of reflecting, hibernating and shedding… new dreams are beginning to emerge… peppered along with small body implosions of excitement of what is and what’s to come. And for now, mine alone to feel and feed ❤️‍🔥

It feels both peaceful and freeing.
